As we learn more, we go back and fix what past mistakes we've made.
I made mistakes in my processing of this picture for example and have thus gone back and revisted it.

Portrait of a friend of mine who decided to go back to Alaska at the end of last semester...

The complexity/busy-ness of everything complements his shirt. Alaska sounds fun. Take care Alaskans; him.

You know how people say you should isolate your subjects?
This image is VERY VERY busy. BUT, I feel that this is one of those images that needs to be quite busy to make it interesting. You've taken what couldve been just a simple portrait and turned it into something more complex and fun to look at. Great use of framing and rule of thirds. The only thing that bothers me a bit, is that his face doesnt seem to be sharp. That is all. Great shot overall :)
